Statement of Faith

Rooted in Ephesians 1:3 — “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.”

Blessed in Christ exists to help people discover what God has given believers in Christ, understand those truths in the context of Scripture, and live from them with humility, courage, and hope. The beliefs below express the foundation on which this ministry rests. They are not the fullness of all we hold dear, but they mark the convictions that shape everything we teach, write, and commend to others — the truths in which all who trust in Christ are together blessed.

The Bible

We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. Scripture is the final rule for faith and practice and is fully sufficient for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.

Our God

We believe in one true and living God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinite, eternal, perfectly holy, loving, just, all-powerful, all-knowing, present everywhere and worthy of all praise, honor, and glory.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and taught with authority.

He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, shed His blood to atone for our sins, was buried, and rose bodily from the dead on the third day.

He ascended into heaven to the right hand of the Father, where He reigns as Lord and intercedes for His people, and He will return personally and visibly in glory.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who glorifies Christ, convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.

He regenerates the believing heart and indwells every Christian, sealing them for the day of redemption and guaranteeing their inheritance in Christ.

He distributes spiritual gifts to every believer for the building up of the church, and He empowers, guides and comforts believers as they seek to live a life pleasing to God.

Humanity, Sin, and the Need for Grace

We believe God created human beings, male and female, in His own image, with inherent dignity and worth.

Through the disobedience of Adam, sin entered the world, corrupting every aspect of human nature. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Sin deserves eternal separation from God, and apart from Christ, people are spiritually dead and helpless to save themselves. Apart from God’s intervening grace, we are lost and without hope.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

Jesus Christ’s substitutionary death and bodily resurrection are the only basis for the forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God. It is not earned by human effort or good works.

All who truly repent and trust in Christ as Lord and Savior are forgiven, justified, born again by the Holy Spirit, adopted into God’s family, and receive the gift of eternal life

In Christ, we are blessed with every spiritual blessing in Him, secured entirely by His finished work on the cross.

The Church

We believe in the spiritual unity of all who trust in Christ, who together form His body, the Church, of which He is the Head.

The Church is called to worship God, proclaim the gospel, make disciples of all nations, observe the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and live as a community of love, holiness, and grace.

While believers may gather in different congregations and traditions, all who are in Christ are members of one family and called to walk together in humility and peace.

The Christian Life

We believe those who are in Christ are called to grow in holiness, love God with all their heart, and love their neighbour as themselves.

The indwelling Holy Spirit produces His fruit in the believer’s life and equips them for good works, which are the expected outcome of genuine faith.
